Canadian Agricultural Skills Services

If you are interested in learning some new stuff, you may be able to get the training paid for. You can learn some book keeping, or welding, or you can get some of the certificates that you may need to operate some oilfield equipment. You may also be able to get some help paying for someone to do your chores while you are away getting some training.

Farmers are eligible for funds (up to $16,000 per person) to pay for training required to add to skills required to change careers or to provide skills necessary to manage the existing business. The kind of training that would be funded is based on a learning plan that is developed by the farmer or their spouse in consultation with a training coordinator who will assist in the development of the learning plan.
