This is my Mom’s cousin Yuri and my mother in the farm yard where my mother’s father grew up in north eastern Slovakia. My grandfather had 7 brothers and sisters. Four came to North America and four stayed in Slovakia. Yuri now owns the home place. He milks four goats and two cows and makes cheese to sell. Organic I am sure. He spends his day herding the cows and goats. No fences. It was an absolute delight to meet him. My Mom’s family left this spot in 1928 to come to farm in Tilley, Alberta.
